Jhansi Ki Rani – A tale of courageous women. It is a story of an ordinary yet extraordinary girl. She was destined to become an exemplary ruler of the kingdom called Jhansi. Her revolution against the British rule gave birth to various other freedom fighters in the future to come. She was warm and soft for the friends at heart and was headache for the foes especially British. She proved her mettle to the enemies of the nation India. She is still alive in the hearts of many as great revolutionary and a determined woman.
This show showcases the various aspects and sides of a girl named Manikarnika. Born in a Brahmin family of Varanasi. Her father (Moropant Tambe) used to call his daughter “Manu”. She was very different from other girls who use to learn the household chores at that very age. She uses to learn and play the physically demanding games and brain storming strategies. At a very tender age she got married to the then king of Jhansi – Maharaj Gangadhar Rao. Only after her marriage she got a name – Rani Laxmibai. Her husband (Gangadhar Rao) fell prey to an untimely demise. Which ultimately made her the ruler of the kingdom Jhansi. She is shown as a daughter, wife, mother and a great warrior and done an equal justice to all the roles she played in her life.
This show is a tribute to her bravery, Patriotism, willpower and gallantry, which made her one of the very inspiring figure of the Indian Freedom Movement.
